Writing Winning ProposalsA program for children's book authors This program introduces key elements of winning book proposals—from title, to concept, to competition research, and more. I'll share my own examples of successful book proposals and present a worksheet that you may use to strengthen your own proposal writing. The accompanying checklist assures that you consider marketing hooks, write with engaging language, and convey what makes your project unique. We'll take time for you to complete the worksheet, then we'll share and critique elements of these draft proposals. Even if you've never written a book proposal before (or even thought about doing one), this program will help inspire plans for new projects—and show you how to sell them to publishers. Geared to authors of nonfiction, but the concepts apply to all genres. Length: minimum of 50 minutes for program and workshop, 10-15 minutes for questions. Technical requirements: LCD projector and projection screen |
